VARIABLE AND PRECISE
This device has been designed for the industrial marking of nameplates in variable dimensions for the raised embossing of alphanumeric characters.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:

The embossing force for pressing the individual characters into the steel sheet is applied by an eccentric drive with a three-phase geared brake motor. The vertically mounted type wheel is rotated and positioned by a stepping motor via a toothed belt. The shifting of the embossing wheel from character to character is done by a backlash-free spindle with a second stepper motor.

Data matrix Code

LOTS OF DATA IN A MINIMUM OF SPACE
The Data Matrix Code encodes data in a matrix horizontally and vertically, therefore up to 2000 characters are possible with minimal space requirements of the matrix, and the position of the matrix is not important when reading the code. Substitution errors are reduced to a minimum. HIGH SECURITY

METHOD OF OPERATION
The characters of a typeface to be embossed are inserted into the workpiece by means of impact stamps. These are produced with the required characters according to customer specifications. The embossing force is applied either by a pneumatically operated hammer or by conventional hammer blows. This system is used as a reworking option for type wheel embossing machines and also for clean marking of smaller series orders without any problems. The impact stamps are arranged next to each other in a magazine in the desired sequence of digits. This magazine in turn is located in a holding device which was manufactured according to the customer's specific application. This holding device is attached to the component to be marked. Depending on the material and required embossing depth, the embossing force is applied either by a pneumatically operated hammer or by conventional hammer blows. On the one hand, this system is intended as a rework option for type wheel embossing machines. On the other hand, smaller series orders can be marked cleanly without further ado by means of the holding device for the hammer punches supplied. This type of marking is only suitable for processing unhardened steel, aluminium and sheet metal.

Laser systems

FROM OWN DEVELOPMENT
The diode pumped Nd: YAG laser described here is a product of our own development, design and manufacture. The laser beam source was developed by our company especially for the high requirements in high volume production in terms of reliability, availability and ease of maintenance. Our laser systems are characterized by their compact design and robustness.

APPLICATION

Our lasers are mainly used in the automotive industry for the marking of foils and for tempered marking of various metals and plastics. Foil laser systems from Werner Maschinenbau GmbH are built on a stable base frame made of light metal profiles with a screwed-on aluminium mounting plate. With its compact dimensions and the rollers mounted on the base frame if required, the system can be integrated very flexibly into new and existing production processes. You only need a 5 bar air connection and a 230V power supply for commissioning.

YOUR ADVANTAGES
Permanent marking of your components - you get a system which is very flexible and can be adapted very quickly to changed conditions - robust and compact design. - The diode stack itself is built into a hermetically sealed housing. This makes it possible for you as a customer to exchange the used diode stack for a new one within a few minutes without affecting the actual pump chamber.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF THE MARKING SYSTEM
The diode-pumped ytterbium fiber lasers HandMarker 20 or 50 are characterized by highest pulse power and beam quality. A wide variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, plastics and precious metals can be marked. The laser power is guaranteed by the parallel connection of many single diodes. This ensures a long service life of the diodes even at high working temperatures. The MTBF time is more than 50,000 hours. Fiber lasers are insensitive to adjustment and maintenance-free. The beam movement is carried out by two galvanometer rotating mirrors. Due to the low moving masses, high deflection speeds and precise path accuracy are guaranteed. After deflection, the beam is focused into the working plane by a plane field objective. High focusability and initial pulse suppression allow high-precision marking even on sensitive materials. Fonts, logos and graphics are thus marked accurately and true to the original. The "SinMark" software can be operated on a standard PC without expansion cards (USB interface). An extensive library of control commands for laser and scanner allows to solve even complex marking tasks: e.g. coloured tempering engravings on stainless steel, marking of moving objects, control of external NC-axes. An integrated live preview supports the user in his tasks.

METHOD OF OPERATION
A carbide needle oscillating at approx. 400 Hz. is moved over the surface of the workpiece. This results in many closely following individual points, which form a closed line. This type of marking is particularly suitable for marking hard, uneven surfaces, such as cast surfaces on engine blocks, etc. A hard metal needle oscillating at approx. 400 Hz is used for the needle embossing process. This needle is moved over the surface by means of a coordinate unit controlled by stepping motors according to the lettering specified by the control. This produces a large number of individual dots in close succession, which form a closed line. Any text, logos, special characters and data matrix codes can be inserted within the title block. The penetration depth depends on the material of the workpiece, the workpiece surface, the needle pressure and the point angle of the needle. Due to the very compact design, even hard-to-reach contours can be marked. This system can be used as a built-in unit for integration into systems, robot cells and production lines, as well as a tabletop machine.

METHOD OF OPERATION
The characters to be embossed in a typeface are inserted into the workpiece with a type wheel. These are produced with the required characters according to customer specifications. The embossing force is applied via an eccentric shaft, which compresses the material by pressing in characters. The penetration depth depends on the material of the workpiece, the character to be embossed and the embossing force applied. The character is successively pressed into the workpiece by the type wheel, which is positioned in 2 axes. The required characters are permanently engraved on the circumference of the customer-specific type wheel. This type of marking is only suitable for the processing of unhardened steel, aluminium and sheet metal. The system is designed as an installation unit for integration into plants and production lines. It can be mounted on a robot as well as on a linear frame with fully automatic or manual feed.

METHOD OF OPERATION
A needle with a diamond tip, pneumatically pressed into the workpiece, is pulled over the material. This type of marking is suitable for all unhardened materials such as steel, aluminium, plastic, etc. The system is characterised by its low noise level (less than 70 dB(A)). A needle with a diamond tip is usually used for scribing. Alternatively, a carbide needle can also be used. With the help of a coordinate unit controlled by stepper motors, the pneumatically fed needle is pulled over the surface according to the lettering specified by the control system and in the process scores the characters into the workpiece by displacing and compressing the material. Any text, logos, special characters and data matrix codes can be scored within the marking field. The penetration depth depends on the material of the workpiece, the workpiece surface, the needle pressure and the point angle of the needle. Due to the very compact design, even hard-to-reach contours can be marked. This system can be used as a built-in unit for integration into systems, robot cells and production lines, as well as a tabletop machine.
